Job Description
Your job is to maximise the generation of funds for My Community UK. You will be responsible for all fundraising activity, conducted on behalf of the organisation. As Fundraising Manager you will also be expected to lead the Fundraising Team. As a member of the Management Team you will be expected to contribute to long-term planning and attend monthly Management Team meetings.
Key Duties:
- Generate increased income from existing sources
- Identify and research potential funding opportunities
- Develop proposals for projects that could attract new funding
- Establish links with other voluntary and statutory bodies
- Develop a fundraising strategy with management & staff
- Take a leading role at fundraising and marketing events
- Undertake other duties as required to ensure the proper functioning of the team
Other responsibilities:
- Manage department budget and financial goals
- Carry out recruitment and selection of staff as necessary
- Develop staff members, including holding regular appraisals and conducting performance reviews
These duties and responsibilities are subject to review. Any changes will be subject to consultation.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarisation with website, video, audio and hard copy advertising
- Graphic design skills for the production of video, audio and paper media
- Additional fundraising qualifications
Salaries and benefits
The starting salary will be £19,200 pa with a generous bonus scheme.
Based on a 35 hour working week, with flexitime (to be agreed). Occasional evening and weekend work.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days + bank hols per annum.

For all these voluntary opportunities, you will gain first-hand experience within a young and energetic organisation. Initially, these are all unpaid roles, however any pre-agreed expenses will be covered.
Graphics Designer
To design and produce flyers, posters and leaflets on an adhoc basis. Looking for someone who is either working in this field in a professional capacity and is also willing to assist on a voluntary basis - or someone who is currently studying but also has a keen interest in graphic design and desk-top publishing. Can be home-based or work from our offices in Manchester.
Regional Fundraiser(s)
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals from all walks of life who are willing to raise funds for MC-UK on a long-term basis. The chosen individuals must also have a knack of managing individuals, organising events and communicating effectively with donors. Projects Assistant(s)
Across the UK, particularly in the Midlands & Yorkshire regions, we are looking for individuals to deliver projects on the ground. You may be a professional already working in this field, or may simply show a keen interest. The projects are varied, for example, home-visits for the elderly, running a regular women's support group, or maybe IAG sessions for refugees / migrant communities. Reception / Office Assistant(s)
Working out of our Manchester office, we are looking for individuals who have experience in working in an office environment. Some of the core skills required are good telephone mannerisms, experience with the MS office suite and basic IT skills. The role is varied and we are looking for individuals who are flexible, for example, one day you may be sitting at the reception, then next day you may be packing envelopes and the next day, you may be speaking to donors. Retail experience is a definite plus as you may also be required to work in the shop front from time to time.
